All abilities welcome! Rock climbing can be fun for all...come try it out or work on existing skills! The summer rock climbing series takes place on two different rock zones about 45 minutes from Fairplay, in a secluded and nicely shaded area with an easy approach to the rock. The climbing zones have a variety of routes, with some great 5.7s-5.8s for beginners, on up to 5.11s for advanced climbers. The guides will teach anchor building, knots, climbing technique, communication and safety. Those that have climbed before can explore other tactics such as lead climbing and rappelling. The clinics are designed to give participants the ability to climb as much as possible, with climbing/safety topics interspersed. Kids ages 10 and up are welcome; under 16 requires an adult participating in the clinic. The guides may have extra harnesses for kids 10+ and adults in the small-medium size range.
